Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct and indirect patient care across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatrics
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in acuity
• Deliver safe medication administration and follow infection control and patient safety protocols
• Support post-partum, infusion therapy, wound care, and rehabilitative needs as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Perform high-acuity nursing tasks when needed and escalate concerns appropriately
• Educate patients and families with clear, empathetic communication about care and discharge planning
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally at all times

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Utah RN license or compact state RN license
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS current or ability to obtain within one year of hire
• Willingness to obtain NRP certification and provide care appropriate to certification within one year
• 1-2 years medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, reliable, and adaptable in a rural hospital setting

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of infection control principles and patient safety techniques
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment in rapidly changing situations
• Excellent communication skills: oral, written, and listening
• Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
• Calm, emotionally mature approach to stressful situations
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to accept varied duties as needed
