Shift Type: Rotating 3x12 schedule, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, includes some weekends (day/evening)

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department, prioritizing safety and clinical judgment
Triage patients rapidly and accurately, assessing physical and psychosocial needs to optimize patient flow
Communicate clearly and promptly with ER physicians and mid-level providers about patient status, diagnostics, and treatment responses
Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed
Direct and collaborate with ED techs, registration staff and allied health personnel to ensure coordinated care
Document assessments, interventions and outcomes thoroughly and professionally

Qualifications

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Current MT State RN license
Minimum 2 years Emergency Room (ER) experience required
BLS, ACLS, PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
TNCC and ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Bachelor of Nursing preferred
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
Basic computer skills and office abilities

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Bachelor of Nursing (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and acute care response
Triage and rapid patient assessment
IV therapy and competency with manual and electronic medical equipment
Strong communication with physicians, mid-level providers, patients and families
Ability to prioritize, multitask and make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced setting
Teamwork, flexibility and professional responsibility with minimal supervision
