Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and guidance to nursing staff, students, and new hires to ensure excellent patient care
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and continuing education programs to keep the team sharp
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, coaching staff on complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans
• Act as a liaison between nursing staff and leadership to communicate concerns and drive improvements
• Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and design interventions to close those gaps
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based practice standards and new clinical protocols
• Facilitate staff training for new equipment, procedures, and clinical practices to ensure safe adoption
• Perform quality control audits and report findings to leadership to maintain regulatory compliance and patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license for the State of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC and High Risk Competency - SEARHC
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings preferred
• Ability to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, and to lift/move at least 50 lbs

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and safe medication administration skills
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and regulatory standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate and mentor clinical staff and facilitate professional development
• Critical thinking and the ability to analyze clinical data to inform practice changes
