Roles & Responsibilities

Perform high-quality mammography exams following imaging department protocols and radiologist direction
Provide compassionate patient education and ensure patients understand procedures and consent requirements
Maintain daily QA, preventive maintenance scheduling, and adhere to FDA mammography guidelines
Document accurate patient records in the EHR and ensure prior studies and paperwork are available for interpretation
Practice radiation safety and ALARA standards while operating imaging equipment per manufacturer recommendations
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service calls when outside maintenance is required
Support accreditation processes, structured reporting, audit tracking, and quality improvement initiatives
Assist with clerical duties, patient transport, cross-training staff, and other departmental tasks as needed

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (required)
ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) (required)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire (required)
Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass background check and drug screen (required)
Preferred: 2 years experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT and MRI
Preferred experience with PACS, RIS, HIS, and electronic medical records
Must be at least 18 years of age (21 if position requires driving with a valid driver’s license)

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

Mammography imaging techniques and breast imaging specialty knowledge
Radiologic technology fundamentals, radiation safety, and QA processes
Proficiency with PACS, RIS, HIS, and EHR systems
Patient care, patient education, and strong communication skills
Equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and inventory management
Flexibility to assist in other modalities and adapt to changing departmental needs
