Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based tools
- Develop personalized treatment plans that target meaningful functional goals
- Deliver high-quality therapy with clear progress notes and measurable outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support transitions
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to maximize carryover and functional gains
- Document timely, accurate clinical records in the facility’s system and communicate updates to the team
- Contribute to a positive clinical culture by mentoring peers and sharing best practices
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent clinical degree
- Licensed or license-eligible to practice Speech-Language Pathology in California
- ASHA CCC-SLP credential preferred or working toward certification
- Experience evaluating and treating a varied caseload in inpatient or outpatient settings preferred
- Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of assessment tools and evidence-based SLP interventions
- Skilled in dysphagia management, cognitive-communication, and expressive/receptive language therapy
- Comfortable working with diverse age groups and complex caseloads
- Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
- Time management and organizational skills to balance evaluations, treatments, and documentation
