Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform medically prescribed laboratory tests with precision and care
- Process and prepare specimens ensuring accuracy and proper labeling
- Run and maintain lab instruments and troubleshoot as needed
- Perform quality control and document results to meet regulatory standards
- Communicate critical results to the clinical team in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe, compliant lab environment and follow infection-control protocols
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and share ideas to enhance workflow
Qualifications
- Active MLT or MLS certification (ASCP or equivalent preferred) or working toward certification
- State licensure in Montana if required by regulation; willing to assist with licensure process
- Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training encouraged to apply
- Comfortable working night shifts and a 7 on/7 off rotation
- Strong attention to detail, good documentation habits, and excellent communication skills
Education
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field required; Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of routine clinical laboratory testing and specimen handling
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of quality control, QA processes, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic documentation
- Strong infection control practices and attention to patient/sample safety
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab staff
