Speech-Language Pathologist - LTC/Rehab

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days (start between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM), Day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders using evidence-based practice
- Develop and individualize plans of care and adjust treatments based on patient progress and outcomes
- Accurately document treatment minutes, standardized assessment results, and discharge summaries in the EHR
- Provide consultation, counseling, and family education to support patient-centered care
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members about patient progress and barriers
- Participate in required meetings, utilization reviews, and facility trainings to support quality care
- Obtain necessary DME and supplies in accordance with regulatory and clinical requirements
- Supervise and mentor CFY and student Speech-Language Pathologists to support the next generation
Qualifications
- Active Missouri State SLP license (Compact allowed)
- ASHA CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) required
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required; new grads accepted with Level II clinical experience
- LTC or Rehab experience required
- Experience with standardized assessments, documentation, and treatment planning
- Ability to supervise CFY/students and work collaboratively in a rehab team
- CCS certification preferred (3 years holding active CCS is a plus)
Education
- Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred (ASHA-aligned credentials expected)
Knowledge & Skills
- Evidence-based practice and clinical assessments
- Skilled in evaluating and treating swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
- Strong EHR documentation and accurate recording of treatment minutes
- Experience with Medicare billing concepts, productivity expectations, and DME procurement
- Competence in counseling patients and family education
- Comfort leading group therapy and managing caseload productivity
