Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced ED
• Manage and coordinate care for ER holds, ensuring patient safety and comfort while awaiting disposition
• Perform assessments, triage, and timely interventions using evidence-based practice
• Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and case management to expedite patient flow
• Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist to maintain clinical readiness
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in unit-based quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state verification required)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• Willingness and ability to manage ER holds and work rotating every-other-week schedules
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency testing as part of onboarding
• Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations (Fit test, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, PPD/IGRA, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing fundamentals and triage principles
• Experience with ER holds and prolonged ED patient management
• Competency in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC algorithms
• Familiarity with Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklists
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
