Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform full patient assessments and triage for urgent care patients of all ages
• Provide telephone triage and clinical advice, documenting assessments and follow-up
• Administer medications (oral, topical, IM, SQ, intradermal) and manage IV therapy including initiation and monitoring
• Prioritize patient flow and coordinate care with providers and clinical team members
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and charting in the EMR
• Adhere to infection control procedures and maintain a safe, well-stocked clinical environment
• Facilitate referrals and track outcomes, communicating status updates to providers
• Participate in department quality improvement and continuing competency efforts
• Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions as needed

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and eligible to take NCLEX
• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date; agency staff must have active Alaska license)
• Minimum 2 years of general nursing experience, with at least 1 year in ambulatory or urgent care preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Complete SEARHC Clinical Competency within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Complete SEARHC High Risk Competency within 3 months of hire and annually

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

• Infection control and clinic safety protocols
