Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU setting
• Assess, monitor and document patient status; respond rapidly to changes
• Administer medications, therapies and advanced interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures and recovery expectations
• Mentor and support peers and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana)
• Critical care/ICU clinical experience (prior ICU work preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong assessment, prioritization and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical proficiency in cardiac monitoring, ventilator management and hemodynamic assessment
• Familiarity with ICU documentation and electronic medical record systems
• Strong communication and patient-family education skills
• Ability to triage, prioritize and manage multiple complex patients
• Comfortable with bedside procedures and critical care equipment
