Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (Med/Surg); specific start/end times and assigned workdays to be confirmed with hiring manager

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care on a Medical-Surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop nursing plans that make a measurable difference
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and monitor patient responses closely
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely care and safe discharges
Document patient status and interventions accurately and efficiently in the medical record
Advocate for patients and educate patients and families about care plans and recovery

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN eligible)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or preferred
Clinical experience on a Medical-Surgical unit preferred
Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
Ability to handle 12.5-hour shift schedules and provide consistent, high-quality care

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and safe medication administration
Patient assessment and monitoring skills, including vital signs and neurologic checks
IV/infusion management and basic wound care competency
Effective clinical documentation and time management
Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education
