Shift Type: Surg Tech role, 5-hour shift per assignment (exact start/end times not provided; schedule may vary; includes orientation)

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile instruments and equipment
Assist the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments
Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure patient safety at all times
Perform counts of sponges, sharps and instruments with accuracy and attention to detail
Restock and break down the OR after procedures to keep turnover efficient
Communicate clearly with nurses, surgeons and support staff to keep cases running smoothly

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or demonstrated competency
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ability to obtain
Prior OR/ perioperative experience preferred
Strong attention to sterile technique and patient safety
Professional communication skills and ability to work well in a team

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent clinical training

Knowledge & Skills

Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
Familiarity with surgical instruments, supplies, and basic OR equipment
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Comfort working within perioperative workflows and protocols
Good documentation habits and basic computer/EMR navigation skills
