Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients rapidly to prioritize care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, start IVs and perform procedures safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Document patient assessments, treatments and outcomes clearly and timely
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during stressful moments
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and safety practices
• Mentor and precept new staff and students to build a strong clinical team

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Previous emergency department or acute care experience preferred
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility health requirements
• Strong critical thinking, assessment and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and acute care management
• IV therapy, medication administration and basic emergency procedures
• EKG rhythm recognition and rapid assessment of cardiac issues
• Ability to prioritize high-acuity patients and multitask under pressure
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care accurately
• Excellent teamwork, communication and patient advocacy skills
