Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor cardiopulmonary status, intervening promptly to improve patient outcomes
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment with precision and safety
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results to guide therapy
• Deliver evidence-based respiratory treatments and therapies to patients across acuity levels
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, discharge needs, and home support
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Credentialed as RRT or CRT preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable managing ventilators and critical care respiratory needs
• Strong clinical judgment, good communication skills, and ability to work well in a team
• Preferred: 1+ year acute care experience (new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply)

Education

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy (required) or equivalent
• Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Airway management and advanced respiratory interventions
• Arterial blood gas collection and interpretation
• Familiarity with common respiratory medications and aerosol therapies
• Proficient charting in electronic health records
• Strong patient education and bedside manner
