Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care across multiple units as part of the float pool
- Assess, monitor, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions using evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in ICU, ER hold, MTC/Step-Down, and PACU to coordinate care
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC EMR
- Perform advanced life support interventions and respond to codes as needed
- Mentor and support colleagues when floating to unfamiliar units to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain adherence to BLS and ACLS protocols and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state of practice) required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care experience in a similar-sized facility
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR preferred or required
- Comfort floating to ER, step-down, PACU and other critical areas
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and bedside monitoring skills
- Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Familiarity with ER/hold workflows and step-down/PACU care processes
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Solid clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
- Accurate EPIC documentation and electronic charting skills
