Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (primarily nights) with varied start times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Coverage across all days of the week with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements; night-focused schedule with opportunities for block scheduling.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled emergency care to patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, delivering high-quality, compassionate nursing
• Triage patients efficiently in the fast track and triage areas, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Manage high-acuity traumas and critical patients including monitoring and titrating drips such as vasopressors with close physician collaboration
• Perform and interpret telemetry/ECG strips and promptly communicate findings to providers
• Start IVs and perform phlebotomy as needed, ensuring timely labs and interventions
• Document accurately and thoroughly in EPIC to support continuity of care and regulatory standards
• Work collaboratively with ED physicians, charge nurses, techs, RT, and ancillary services to optimize patient throughput and safety
• Serve as a dependable team member in vertical flow/fast track areas to maintain department flow during peak times

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (eligible to submit for licensure required)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with fast-paced ED environment, trauma care, and common critical drips
• Able to work nights and every-other-weekend schedule; travel experience preferred but first-time travelers are welcome
• Experience with EPIC charting strongly preferred
• Ability to competently read and act on cardiac monitors and perform triage competencies when required

Education

• BSN not required; active RN license required

• Emergency nursing and trauma care expertise

• IV starts and phlebotomy skills
• Telemetry strip reading and ECG interpretation
