Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and proper use of mobility aids to promote independence
• Document resident care clearly and promptly to support continuity and safety
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Offer emotional support and respectful companionship to residents and their families
• Collaborate with nursing staff to follow care plans and escalate concerns when needed

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (must be valid in Pennsylvania)
• High standards for resident dignity, safety, and confidentiality
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations as required)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification (state-specific training/program completion required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and safe patient handling
• Skilled in taking vital signs and recognizing changes in condition
• Familiarity with charting and basic documentation best practices
• Understanding of infection control and resident safety protocols
• Good interpersonal skills and patience when supporting residents with daily needs
