Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for emergency department patients
• Perform triage, rapid assessment and prioritize care in fast-paced situations
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and multidisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly in the medical record
• Maintain readiness for emergency interventions and assist with procedures as needed
• Educate patients and families about conditions, care plans and follow-up instructions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or eligible for licensure
• Minimum clinical ED experience preferred (specific years may vary by role)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and triage skills
• Ability to work calmly in urgent, high-acuity situations and adapt to changing priorities
• Immunizations and background checks as required by facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• BSN preferred for career advancement opportunities

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles and triage protocols
• Ability to manage rapid assessment and prioritization of care
• IV therapy, medication administration and emergency procedures
• Clear clinical documentation and effective communication with the care team
• Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support knowledge
• Familiarity with EHR systems and electronic charting workflows
