Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess inpatient orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric patients and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide hands-on treatment including manual therapy, gait training, and extremity mobilization
• Deliver effective post-operative care for TKA, THA, RCR, spinal surgeries and other post-op cases
• Teach home exercise programs and provide patient and family education to support recovery
• Document thorough evaluations, reassessments, short- and long-term goals, and discharge plans in a timely manner
• Manage a scheduled caseload (approximately 11-12 patients/day) while prioritizing safety and quality
• Use and instruct on assistive devices and transfers, ensuring safe patient mobility
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical experience preferred (will consider candidates with less than 1 year)
• Spanish speaking preferred but not required
• BLS preferred
• Manual Therapy certification preferred
• Comfort and experience treating orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric inpatient populations
• Willingness to occasionally float to the acute inpatient side

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment: AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, identifying environmental barriers
• Documentation: Evaluation, Plan of Care, Reassessments, Discharge planning
• Treatment skills: Gait training, manual therapy, spinal mobilization, extremity mobilization
• Post-op care: TKA, THA, RCR, spinal surgeries, ACL/arthroscopy rehab
• Modalities and settings: Cryotherapy, hydrotherapy/aquatic therapy, outpatient clinic experience
• Equipment proficiency: Crutches, standard/rolling walkers, gait belts, sliding boards, slings
• Patient education and home exercise program development
• Professional skills: Time management, patient transport, recognition of signs and symptoms of abuse
