Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer IV therapies including medications, biologics, chemotherapy, blood products, and hydration according to orders and protocols
• Assess patients before infusion by reviewing history, allergies, labs, and vital signs to ensure safety
• Monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions and intervene quickly and appropriately
• Initiate, maintain, and discontinue peripheral IVs, PICC lines, ports, and other vascular access devices
• Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education about infusion therapies, side effects, and post-infusion care
• Document assessments, treatments, responses, and education accurately in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN licensure (required)
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) (required)
• ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (minimum required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Experience with infusion therapy, IV medication administration, and chemotherapy/blood product administration

Knowledge & Skills

• Infusion therapy techniques and IV medication administration
• Vascular access management including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and ports
• Patient assessment and vital signs monitoring
• Recognition and management of infusion-related adverse reactions
• Accurate EHR documentation and charting
• Patient and family education with clear communication skills
• Familiarity with oncology infusion protocols and safety practices
