Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor patient status and communicate changes promptly to the care team
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate discharge planning
Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record
Participate in orientation and unit-based education to maintain best practices

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana (or compact active RN as applicable)
Clinical experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) encouraged if applicable
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and provide safe patient care
Willingness to complete required facility orientation prior to start

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of infection control practices and safety standards
