Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor progressive care unit patients, interpreting telemetry and clinical data to inform care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document interventions accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care and discharge planning
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to the provider team
• Provide compassionate patient and family education to promote recovery and self-care
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation and handoffs
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Kentucky (required)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and other progressive care certifications preferred
• Experience or strong interest in Progressive Care Unit/telemetry nursing
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork orientation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent as foundational requirement
• Completion of required unit orientation prior to primary assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and progressive care monitoring including telemetry interpretation
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Prioritization, time management, and the ability to respond quickly in urgent situations
