Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for Med/Surg patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Monitor patient progress and promptly escalate changes in condition
- Document patient care completely and accurately in the electronic medical record
- Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in Alabama)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or encouraged
- Med/Surg nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in Med/Surg nursing assessments and interventions
- Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Patient education and discharge planning skills
- Critical thinking and clinical judgment under pressure
