Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid, accurate patient assessments and triage to prioritize care in a busy ER
• Deliver trauma-informed care across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Initiate IVs, draw labs, and manage medications including vasopressors and antiarrhythmics
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry, escalating concerns to physicians
• Provide safe care for respiratory patients with familiarity in vents/CPAP/BiPAP troubleshooting
• Support throughput by collaborating with physicians, techs, and support services to move patients efficiently
• Document care clearly and promptly in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication during stressful moments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in North Dakota)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting strongly preferred
• Comfort with 12-hour rotating shifts and every-other-weekend scheduling
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and triage effectively
• Travel experience preferred but enthusiastic first-time travelers are welcome
• BSN not required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and trauma care
• Patient assessment and triage skills
• IV starts and phlebotomy
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry
• Familiarity with vasopressors, heparin, antiarrhythmics and critical care drips
• Pediatric emergency care and stroke/STEMI recognition
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
• Strong teamwork, communication, and crisis management abilities
