Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Perform thorough assessments, develop nursing plans, and document care accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and timely, following policies
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Participate in unit orientation and help maintain a positive, team-focused culture

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in California or meet state licensure requirements
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; pediatric certifications a plus
• Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg and pediatric patient care
• Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and pediatric Med/Surg nursing skills
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and basic pediatric procedures
• Strong documentation and charting in EHR systems
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and rapid problem-solving
• Ability to work effectively on an interdisciplinary team and support families
