Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Perform thorough assessments and continuously monitor patient status
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with orders
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with families to keep them informed and supported
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record and participate in handoffs
• Participate in orientation activities and support onboarding of new team members

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience or strong interest in pediatric critical care (PICU)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and pediatric certifications preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility credentialing requirements
• Strong critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in pediatric patient assessment and monitoring
• Knowledge of critical care interventions and common PICU equipment
• Medication administration and safe IV/infusion practices
• Effective communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
