Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and document changes accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following hospital policies
• Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members to create and update care plans
• Educate patients and caregivers about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Participate in orientation and training to ensure smooth onboarding for new staff
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Washington state or compact RN licensure) — ready to practice
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; PALS preferred for pediatric care
• Experience or clinical competency in Med/Surg and pediatric patient populations
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all qualified RNs are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
• Familiarity with medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Excellent patient and family education skills with cultural sensitivity
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and escalate concerns appropriately
