Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients with clinical excellence
• Assess patients, develop and implement nursing plans, and document care accurately
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment while following infection control standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or compact RN license as applicable
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS/PALS a plus depending on unit needs
• Ability to pass facility onboarding, background check, and drug screen
• Strong clinical assessment skills, good communication, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing standards, assessment, and interventions
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting best practices
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Ability to prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment
• Strong patient education and family communication skills
