Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments and create individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
Document care in the electronic health record clearly and timely
Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with families and team members

Qualifications

Current RN license in Louisiana (or compact license where applicable)
Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (experience preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
Strong assessment, prioritization and time-management skills
Ability to work 12-hour clinical shifts in a fast-paced environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid medical-surgical nursing knowledge and clinical judgment
Familiarity with medication administration and IV therapy
Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) and charting accurately
Strong communication, teamwork and patient education skills
Ability to handle changing patient acuity and prioritize care effectively
