Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid triage assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Participate in orientation and ongoing competency training to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana required
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Emergency Department experience preferred but new-to-ED nurses with strong acute care skills encouraged to apply
• Comfortable with fast-paced decision making, multitasking, and teamwork
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to pass facility orientation and competency assessments

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment in emergency settings
• Cardiac monitoring and basic dysrhythmia recognition
• IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with EHR documentation best practices
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management
• De-escalation techniques and compassionate patient-family communication
