Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Prioritize and coordinate care to support timely patient flow and positive outcomes
• Identify changes in patient status and escalate concerns to the appropriate provider
• Participate in unit-based quality and safety improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana or appropriate compact licensure
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or available
• Clinical experience on a medical-surgical unit preferred
• Strong patient assessment, medication administration, and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently as a per-diem RN while collaborating with a care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and patient monitoring
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems for documentation
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on patient safety and quality care
