Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations with accuracy and care
• Position patients and operate radiography equipment to capture high-quality images
• Ensure image quality, proper labeling, and timely upload to PACS/EMR
• Maintain patient safety and follow radiation protection/ALARA principles
• Provide compassionate patient communication and support throughout procedures
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and the care team to support diagnosis and treatment
• Document procedures and maintain accurate records in departmental systems
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana radiologic technologist license or eligibility to obtain one
• ARRT registration preferred or required per facility guidelines
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Strong patient care skills and the ability to work calmly in urgent situations
• Reliable attendance, professional communication, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; ARRT certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with digital radiography equipment and PACS image systems
• Solid knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and imaging protocols
• Understanding of radiation safety and infection control practices
• Comfortable with electronic documentation and basic computer systems
• Good communication skills for patient interaction and multidisciplinary teamwork
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow in a busy imaging department
