Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality direct patient care on the Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage IV therapies safely
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Support and mentor junior nursing staff and foster a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in Georgia)
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — demonstrated competence in med/surg care
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to comply with facility requirements (background checks, immunizations, etc.)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg patient care, assessments, and common diagnoses
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Proficient charting and documentation in an electronic medical record
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Effective communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
• Prioritization and time management during busy 12+ hour shifts
