Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and perform bedside cardiac monitoring to keep patients safe
• Titrate drips (sedation, vasopressors, insulin) per protocol—your critical thinking makes the difference
• Manage ventilator-supported patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and respond to dysrhythmias promptly
• Provide primary nursing care for ICU/PCU/MST patients with an emphasis on high-acuity needs
• Document accurately in Cerner and communicate clear handoffs to the care team
• Float between designated units (with two-hour notice when required) to maintain competency and support patient needs
• Participate in holiday and weekend rotations and standby duty when scheduled

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (able to practice in Arizona)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (or 1 year ICU + 1 year PCU/Med-Surg from larger facilities with strong skills)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated competency in dysrhythmia interpretation — must pass dysrhythmia exam (80%) within two attempts prior to contract
• Experience with telemetry, bedside cardiac monitors, and 12-lead EKGs
• Comfort titrating drips (sedation, vasopressors, insulin) and managing ventilated patients
• Familiarity with Cerner or other electronic charting systems preferred
• Ability to comply with radius and employer restrictions: no full-time/part-time/PRN work with CommonSpirit (including CHI/Dignity) within the past year; no permanent work at another CommonSpirit facility within the last 12 months

Education

• Active RN license in Arizona (Registered Nurse)
• BSN not required
