Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and timely reassessments for patients across the lifespan.
• Develop, implement and revise individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely, following medication safety protocols and the five rights.
• Monitor clinical status, interpret patient data, and take appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
• Provide age-specific pain assessment and management; educate patients and families on pain control.
• Document care accurately to current standards and communicate clearly with physicians, families and team members.
• Assist with procedures and provide technical support while maintaining high standards of infection control and safety.
• Participate in staff education, orientation of new employees, and quality improvement/Magnet preparation activities.

Qualifications

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program (required)
• BLS and ACLS certification (required)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing; experience with pediatric and geriatric populations is a plus
• Competency in IV insertion, medication administration and patient assessment
• Ability to meet physical demands: lifting, standing/walking >75% of shift, manual dexterity for procedures
• BSN preferred; performance and clinical experience will be considered

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program (required)
• BSN preferred
