Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients across SICU, MICU, and TICU
• Manage ventilators, titratable drips, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Read and interpret telemetry/ECG strips and respond to dysrhythmias
• Perform bedside procedures including Foley insertions, central line dressing changes, bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care when needed
• Maintain sterile technique and demonstrate competency during SIMs Lab skills testing
• Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams for 24/7 patient care
• Float across ICU areas and to MedSurg/Telemetry units as staffing needs require
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner and participate in patient handoffs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to submit license if pending)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience
• ACLS and BLS certification required; NIHSS required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed) and day 1 SIMs Lab competencies for Foley and central line care
• Experience working in a 600+ bed teaching facility strongly preferred
• Competent in titration of drips, ventilator management, and telemetry interpretation
• Travel teams must provide their own vehicle; must comply with facility grooming/fit-test requirements (natural hair color, no facial piercings; clean-shaven as required for fit test)

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (BSN Preferred: No listed requirement)
• Willingness to complete unit-specific orientation and competency assessments

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management (Cervo I, Jet, Oscillator familiarity a plus)
• Telemetry/ECG strip interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Central line care and Foley catheter insertion competency
• Titration of drips and critical medication administration
• Experience with high-acuity trauma care (MVAs, GSW, closed head injuries)
• Bronchoscopy and tracheostomy bedside care
• Hemodialysis catheter management
• Cerner charting and clinical documentation
• Strong sterile technique and SIMs lab competency
