Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately in a fast-paced ER setting
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate care
• Monitor patient condition, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families
• Maintain a safe, efficient environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Participate in critical interventions and emergency resuscitations as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California or eligible to obtain one quickly
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred, ideally 1+ years
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills with the ability to prioritize
• Ability to work independently on per-diem shifts and integrate with the team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing assessment
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with emergency protocols and rapid response procedures
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) and documentation systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills and calm decision-making under pressure
• Basic knowledge of trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and acute care interventions
