Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care and assistance to students and staff
• Monitor and record vital signs and health changes accurately
• Assist with daily living activities while promoting independence
• Communicate clearly with school nurses, parents, and caregivers about concerns
• Maintain accurate and timely health documentation and reports
• Respond calmly and effectively to minor injuries and health incidents
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean care environment

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by the employer
• Clear background check and eligibility to work in California
• Comfortable working with children and adolescents in a school setting
• Professional, compassionate attitude with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable taking vitals and recognizing changes in condition
• Skilled in safe patient handling and basic first aid
• Experience with documentation in electronic or paper health records
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students, families, and staff
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with the school health team
• Dependable time management and the ability to prioritize in busy moments
