Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe nursing care for assigned patients during overnight shifts
• Assess patient condition and respond promptly to changes in status
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
• Perform thorough charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Support unit needs as a reliable per-diem clinician, stepping in where coverage is required

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• Experience as an RN in acute care or relevant clinical setting preferred
• Comfort working overnight/extended shifts and adapting to variable schedules
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Familiarity or experience with SCHHW and MST practices is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where indicated

• Clinical assessment and critical thinking for overnight patient care
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Patient education and family communication
• Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Electronic medical record (EMR) navigation and accurate charting
• Team collaboration and effective handoff communication
