Shift Type: Night 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, primarily weeknights (Monday-Friday) with some weekends (Every Other weekend coverage; approximately 3-4 weekend days/month)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Start and maintain IVs and manage peripheral and PICC lines with confidence
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
• Continuously assess and monitor vitals, cardiac rhythms, and overall patient status
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams when emergent care is needed
• Chart accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR
• Educate patients and families on treatments, self-care, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and follow patient care plans
• Provide chest tube care, oxygen administration, and other PCU-level interventions

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license required
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical acute care nursing experience
• BCLS required and IV certification required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
• Ability to float to other units within the OSU organization as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and peripheral line care
• PICC line management and phlebotomy skills
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Chest tube care and respiratory support including oxygen delivery
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting
• Use of isolation precautions and PPE
• Rapid Response/Code team participation and emergency response
• Critical thinking, strong communication, and multitasking in a fast-paced setting
