Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Continuously assess and monitor complex patient conditions and intervene promptly
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Administer medications, manage infusions and ventilator care safely and accurately
• Educate and support families through care plans, procedures, and transitions
• Participate in orientation, unit education, and precepting to help onboard new team members
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and communicate changes in patient status effectively

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio (or ability to obtain) — required
• Experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing
• Current BLS; PALS and ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work in high-acuity settings with strong clinical judgment
• Excellent communication skills and a family-centered approach to care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred for career development and specialty practice

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid assessment skills for critically ill pediatric patients
• Familiarity with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and pediatric infusion therapy
• Strong situational awareness and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Teamwork and clear communication with interdisciplinary teams and families
• Comfort using electronic medical records and documenting thoroughly
