Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders to help patients communicate and swallow safely
• Perform thorough evaluations and prepare clear plans of care that guide meaningful progress
• Document initial evaluations, progress notes, plans of care, and discharge summaries in a timely, professional manner
• Provide patient and family education and counseling to support understanding and carryover of therapy strategies
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, dietitians, and other team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Develop and deliver in-service presentations and staff education to share best practices and clinical recommendations
• Coordinate with insurance companies regarding benefits to support patient access to services
• Maintain a clean, safe treatment environment and perform reminder calls to optimize patient attendance

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Current or eligible for Wisconsin state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or in progress
• Experience assessing and treating dysphagia and other adult speech and language disorders
• Strong clinical documentation skills and ability to develop care plans
• Excellent communication skills for patient, family, and interdisciplinary team interactions
• Comfortable preparing and delivering staff education and in-service trainings

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
