Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Tele/PCU nursing care for adults and geriatric patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and act appropriately
• Titrate drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose Dopamine) per protocol
• Manage patients on BiPAP, trach/Airvo and troubleshoot respiratory support with the team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team during cardiac caths, EP studies, pacer care and other procedures
• Document care accurately in EPIC and complete required orientation and competency checks
• Float to support other units (PCU, MS, ER holds) as needed to maintain patient flow and safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• PCU experience required and ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Telemetry/cardiac nursing experience (titration of drips required)
• Comfortable with acute care adult and geriatric populations
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Approximately 2 years of nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers OK

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN — BSN not required
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and strip reading
• Drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• ACLS and BLS protocols
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record
• Experience with BiPAP, trach care, Airvo and respiratory troubleshooting
• Comfort managing common cardiac meds: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nipride, Lasix, Dopamine
