Roles & Responsibilities

Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing components of patient care and modifying treatments as needed
Guide patients through stretching and exercise routines tailored to their needs
Perform safe patient transfers from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area
Teach practical at-home techniques and balance training to patients and families
Maintain a clean, organized therapy environment and manage therapy equipment
Complete documentation and administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork

Qualifications

Current PTA license required (Missouri state license; Compact allowed)
Minimum 1 year of PTA experience — REQUIRED
Experience in long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation settings — REQUIRED
Comfort collaborating directly with a Physical Therapist and communicating with patients and families
Ability to perform patient transfers and provide hands-on assistance safely

Knowledge & Skills

Patient care and hands-on therapy assistance
Exercise instruction and stretching techniques
Balance training approaches and fall prevention strategies
Safe patient transfer techniques
Documentation and administrative skills (scheduling, paperwork)
Experience working in LTC and post-acute rehab environments
