Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-13-2026

End Date: 09-12-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM), with one weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off during those weeks)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy assessments and treatments for acute inpatient populations
Manage caseload of approximately 12 patients per day, including post-surgical (TKA, THA, spinal), CVA, and general medical/deconditioned patients
Cover medical/surgical, ICU, and ER departments as needed
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function and mobility
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes
Document patient progress accurately and timely

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapy license required
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Minimum 1 year of acute inpatient physical therapy experience
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient assessment and clinical reasoning skills
Proficiency in rehabilitation techniques for orthopedic and neurological conditions
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Time management and organizational skills to handle varied caseloads
