Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-13-2026

End Date: 09-12-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shift. One weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off).

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and treat patients across medical/surgical, ICU, and ER units
Help patients regain mobility and independence after surgery or illness
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create personalized care plans
Document patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
Participate in department orientation and contribute to a positive work culture

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapist license required
Current BLS certification
Prior experience in acute inpatient physical therapy
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of acute care physical therapy practices
Skills in treating general medical, orthopedic, and neurological conditions
Ability to work effectively in ICU and ER settings
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
