Location: Kearney, Nebraska

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation, 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM (days) or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM (nights), every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical/orthopedic unit
Manage post-operative care for joint replacements (knee, hip, shoulder, ankle) and spine surgeries
Administer pain medications, antibiotics, and blood products as ordered
Monitor vital signs, assess patient condition, and document accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge planning

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS certification (AHA) required
Valid driver's license
Med Surg or Ortho experience preferred
Team-oriented, flexible, and willing to learn

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of orthopedic surgical nursing and post-operative care
Proficiency in medication administration and patient assessment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
Time management and prioritization skills
