Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to identify individual and group needs and interventions
• Use the nursing process to plan and deliver complex psychiatric nursing care
• Provide clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers to ensure safe, therapeutic care
• Manage medically assisted drug and alcohol withdrawal and stabilization interventions
• Lead or take charge shifts as scheduled, ensuring unit safety and continuity of care
• Facilitate and participate in group interventions and therapeutic activities
• Accurately document patient care and maintain required psych skills checklists and records

Qualifications

• Active LPN license (Vermont or Compact) required at time of submission
• Minimum 5 years experience as an LPN required; inpatient psychiatric experience must be within the last 3 months (LTC not accepted)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Psych/Behavioral Health experience — must list age groups and populations on resume
• Willingness to float to other units and accept charge nurse shifts
• Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment required
• Psych skills checklist from within the last year required
• RTO (return to office/time off) cannot exceed 7 days; include driver’s license or candidate address with submission
• Must be available to start on May 11, 2026 (no exceptions)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong command of the nursing process and psychiatric nursing fundamentals
• Clinical supervision and staff oversight skills
• Experience with co-occurring disorders and medically assisted withdrawal
• Comfort working with adolescents and adults in inpatient settings
• Group facilitation and stabilization techniques
• Crisis prevention/intervention familiarity (CPI offered onsite)
• Solid communication, documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities
