Location: Omaha, NE

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Days 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and Nights 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM; schedule set by manager, includes every-other weekend and holiday rotation (2 of 3 major holidays or as needed)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill adult and adolescent patients to deliver safe, effective care
- Manage ventilator-dependent patients and provide ventilator troubleshooting and support
- Titrate vasopressors, sedatives, paralytics and other drips per protocol with careful judgment
- Interpret telemetry and cardiac strips using Draeger centralized monitoring and act promptly
- Respond to codes and attend Rapid Response Team events alongside the charge nurse
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, intensivists, RTs and students
- Perform and support procedures (CVP, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, ICP monitoring) with competency
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and participate in unit quality and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience required
- BLS, ACLS and NIHSS required prior to or at start of assignment
- Driver's license required at submittal (used for radius verification — 50 mile rule applies)
- Ability to pass a skills-based open-book orientation exam (90% pass threshold)
- Willingness to float to other inpatient units (excluding Maternity/NICU) as needed
- Adherence to unit policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas)
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BSN not required (information shows not mandatory for this role)
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing fundamentals and strong patient assessment skills
- Ventilator management and respiratory support familiarity (Nasal cannula to vents)
- Drip titration experience (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics)
- Telemetry interpretation and comfort managing cardiac rhythm issues
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
- Critical thinking, teamwork, and clear communication in high-volume settings
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team and mentor others
