Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the ED team as the Nurse Manager, setting clinical expectations and supporting staff development
• Oversee patient flow in an 8-bed ER plus fast-track area to ensure timely, high-quality care for ~50 patients/day
• Serve as a clinical resource for triage, fast track, and complex ED cases including stroke and STEMI receiving
• Coordinate nursing assignments, maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:4–5 by acuity)
• Collaborate with physicians, RT, techs and unit support to optimize patient throughput and safety
• Ensure compliance with required certifications and hospital policies, and support performance improvement initiatives
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment issues and support bedside staff with CPAP/BiPAP/High Flow interventions

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to submit license for assignment) — must meet state submission requirements
• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience with previous ED leadership experience (required)
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, NIHSS
• Experience with triage, fast track operations, and charge/manager responsibilities
• Comfortable with EPIC charting system (experience preferred/required)
• Willingness to be in-state for orientation week and submit a valid driver’s license (60-mile radius requirement)

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (BSN: No)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Nursing and ED leadership skills — leading staff and managing patient flow
• Triage expertise and fast-track management
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
• Hands-on experience with ventilator troubleshooting, CPAP, BiPAP and High Flow support
• Phlebotomy and bedside procedures as needed in the ER
• Strong communication, delegation, and crisis management skills
